Get Healthy!

So, I had a nice long chat with a good friend of mine today and I realized that my blog could actually become something more than a place to post pictures and discuss random things. It could actually be a place for education.

There are two things that have been very important to me lately -
1. Being prepared for whatever happens in this country.
2. Being anxiously engaged in worthy causes.

I decided I am going to start with being prepared.

Recently I have had the opportunity to participate in a Family Herbalist course. What fabulously interesting stuff!! I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and am pleased to announce that I am one of the newest certified Family Herbalists!

So, here is my Educational Tip Of The Day.

Do you remember how often we have been told "You are what you eat?" Well, I am a TRUE believer now. We are exactly what we eat, and when we eat junky food, we don't feel so good. We also can't fight off bacteria and germs so good either! So, first and foremost, when we talk about good health and how to heal, the first discussion must be about what we eat.

Now, the government has put out information regarding the "New food groups" and there are thousands of philosophies on what a good diet is supposed to look like. I'd like to refer us back to the beginning... Adam and Eve. What did they eat?

Think about it... They didn't have the ever cool microwave and state of the art cooking devices. They had a beautiful garden with all manner of herbs and fruits of the vine and vegetables.

So, my point is, get back to the basics. In order to ward off disease, such as flu, colds, strep throat, ear aches, the first thing you need to do is look at your diet and change a few things. When you get sick, start by feeding the body a healthy wholesome diet of:

  • Fresh Fruit Juices
  • Fresh Vegatable juices
  • Raw fruit
  • Raw vegetables
Don't forget to chew your liquids and drink your solids, which means swish your juice around in your mouth 5 or 6 times, like you are chewing and chew your solids until they are in liquid form. This helps the food to combine with the saliva which the nutrients in those foods easier to digest.

Garlic is the earth's natural "Super Antibiotic". An adult dose is 4 cloves per day. Trust me, it works! Forget those penicillin pills which destroy the natural bacteria in the body... go on a juice diet and take garlic for 24 to 48 hours and let the miracles occur!
